Winterjazz
The new year always kicks off with an evening full of WinterJazz. In early January, all the rooms at Stadtgarten, as well as Zimmermanns club, open their doors to Cologne’s jazz scene.
WinterJazz kicks off the new year with a major jazz explosion in early January. For one evening, artists and bands from Cologne’s jazz and improvisation scene perform throughout all the rooms of Stadtgarten and at the nearby Zimmermanns club. The focus is on contemporary, experimental and cutting-edge music, bringing together local musicians and international guests. Free admission makes the festival as accessible as possible, turning Stadtgarten into a vibrant place for encounters and exchange. In 2026, WinterJazz celebrated its 15th anniversary. To mark the occasion, national and international guests were invited to develop and present new projects together with Cologne musicians.
