Salon de Jazz

The Salon de Jazz is at home in the heart of Cologne's Severinsviertel. In its small 42 m² concert room, the programme is stylistically diverse – from rock-tinged sounds to free improvisation. Founded in 2008 out of a musicians' shared flat, the club also offers live recordings thanks to its own sound studio.

The address Severinskloster says it all: the Salon de Jazz is at home in the middle of Cologne's Severinsviertel. The programme in the small, 42 m² concert room is stylistically diverse: there's room for rock-tinged sounds just as much as for free improvisation.

The club emerged in 2008 out of a shared flat of musicians right in the heart of Cologne's Südstadt. It comprises a concert room of around 42 m² with an adjoining kitchen/bar, an office, and four sound studio rooms located in the basement. The sound studio also makes it possible to record concerts "live."

Booking and organisation are handled by Clemens Orth, who is also responsible for the ideas behind the club and their realisation. In terms of content, the concerts are focused on jazz and improvised music.
