Samuel Restle Oktett | Das Salz der See

Das Samuel Restle Oktett vereint den Sectionsound einer Bigband mit dem Individualismus einer Kleinbesetzung. Die Kompositionen und Arrangements des Bandleaders und Posaunisten bringen die Vorzüge organisierter Musik, die damit einhergehende Griffigkeit und den sonoren Klang der fünf zusammenspielenden Bläser heraus. Dabei bleibt genug Raum für den Sound jedes Einzelnen, die Soli sind auf die Qualitäten der jeweiligen Musiker:innen zugeschnitten. Durch die freundschaftlichen Beziehungen innerhalb der Band und authentisches Musizieren entsteht ein homogenes Ganzes.
Im Jahr 2022 gehörte das Samuel Restle Oktett zu den Gewinner*innen des vom LOFT / 2ndFLOOR eV ausgeschriebenen recording projects – das im Rahmen des Preises aufgenommen Album Das Salz der See ist Anfang 2024 erschienen.

The Samuel Restle Oktett combines the section sound of a big band with the individualism of a small ensemble. The compositions and arrangements of the bandleader and trombonist bring out the advantages of organized music, the accompanying grip and the sonorous sound of the five wind players playing together. There is enough room for the sound of each individual, and the solos are tailored to the qualities of each musician. The friendly relationships within the band and authentic music-making create a homogeneous whole.
In 2022, the Samuel Restle Oktett was one of the winners of the recording project organized by the LOFT / 2ndFLOOR eV – the album Das Salz der See, recorded as part of the award, was released in early 2024.
